The School of International Trade and Economics was founded in March 2010 based on the Department of International Trade and Economics of the former School of Finance. Since its establishment, it has set the construction goal of becoming a “distinctive, internationalized high-level research-oriented institution”. Adhering to moral education and scientific research innovation, it has firmly grasped the historical opportunities presented by the “Double First-Class Universities” construction and China's new era of opening up, and has achieved development. It has become an important part of the construction of the worldfirst-class discipline of applied economics at our university and enjoys a high degree of social popularity and reputation.

The college adapts to global trends and changes in times, integrating moral education into all aspects of ideological and moral education, cultural education, and social practice. It continuously explores talent cultivation models and improves the professional structure. A complete hierarchical and high-level talent cultivation system has been established for undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral studentswhichincludedomesticand foreign students. Currently, there are more than 1,500 students. On the basis of continuing to offer undergraduate majorsandCUFE-VU program,postgraduateand doctoral authorization points, undergraduate majors in international business and trade economics andpostgraduate majorsin international business have been added. English-taughtmaster's and doctoral international programs and the Belt and Road Chinese master's international programshave been introduced to enhance the internationalizedlevel of talent cultivation.

The college attaches great importance to the construction of teaching staff and forms excellent scientific research teams, achieving fruitful research results in the field of the international economy. The number of full-time teachers increased from the original numberby 25. The doctorate rate is 97% and the proportion of overseas doctoral degreeis nearly 40%. College teachers have undertaken more than 40 vertical projects, including the major projects of the National Social Science Fund. They have published 37 papers in Chinese AA journals such as “Economic Research” and 3 papers in SSCI AAA journals such as “Journal of Development Economics”.

The college regards the cultivation of outstanding talent with both ability and political integrity as its top priority. After its establishment, it won the title of Beijing Excellent Class Collective three times. Two undergraduates achieved excellent results in the “Voice of the Future APEC” competition and participated in the APEC series of summits as representatives of Chinese youth. In addition to the “International Trade Society”, new second classroom activities such as the “International Business Negotiation Association”, “Eaglet Reading Club”, “Undergraduate Academic Talent Training Project”, “International Business English Debate Competition”, and “Doctoral Forums” have been established. Four undergraduates collaborated with teachers to publish papers in the authoritative journal “Economic Research.” The graduate student team won the “National International Business Professional Degree Innovation and Entrepreneurship Elite Challenge” for three consecutive championships. Doctoral graduates have won four excellent doctoral dissertations at university level. The employment quality of graduates was excellent. The average overseas study and further education rate of undergraduates majoring inCUFE-VU programexceeded 50%.

Looking back at the glorious past and forging ahead, the efforts of several generations of international trade have created today's glory. Remembering the mission, carrying forward the past, and opening the future, the college will surely write a new chapter on the journey of building socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era.
